🧭 Overview: What is a domain?

A domain is the address a user types into their browser to access your content.
Examples:

  • votremarque.com

  • formation.votremarque.com

On CrocoClick, your domain lets you customize your branding and host your:

  • Funnels

  • Websites

  • Blogs

  • Webinars

  • Customer portals

  • Emails (SPF/DKIM/DMARC authentication)

Everything is managed in one place, in the Domain tab.

📌 What is DNS?

DNS (Domain Name System) is the equivalent of an Internet phone book.

It translates your domain (human-readable) into an IP address (machine-readable).
Each feature uses a specific type of DNS:

  • CNAME → Subdomain redirection

  • A Record → Points to an IP address

  • TXT → Verification / emails

  • MX → Email reception (rarely useful in CrocoClick)

Understanding DNS isn’t mandatory… but configuring it correctly is.

🧩 What you can do from the Domain tab

The Domain tab centralizes EVERYTHING:

🔗 1. Connect a domain or subdomain

  • Buy a domain from CrocoClick

  • Connect a domain purchased elsewhere (Namecheap, GoDaddy, OVH…)

  • Manage multiple subdomains according to your needs

🌍 2. Link your domain to your CrocoClick modules

🚀 Before you begin

You need:

  • An active CrocoClick account

  • A domain:

    • purchased from us or

    • purchased from an external registrar

  • Access to DNS settings if your domain is hosted elsewhere

🛒 Buy a domain

You have two options:

🟢 1. Buy directly through CrocoClick (recommended)

➡️ The simplest, fastest option—no technical setup required.

  1. Go to Settings → Domain → Buy a domain

  2. Search for the desired name

  3. Buy it

  4. Your domain appears immediately in Internal, with:

    • Preconfigured DNS

    • Automatic SSL

    • Full integrated management

🔵 2. Buy through an external provider

E.g., Namecheap, OVH, GoDaddy, Google Domains.

Next, you’ll need to:

  • Add your domain in CrocoClick

  • Update the DNS settings with your provider

  • Wait for propagation (a few minutes to 24 hours)

These domains will appear as External in CrocoClick.

🧭 Centralized domain management

Everything is managed under Settings → Domain.

You can:

  • Add or remove a domain

  • Add subdomains

  • View associated products

  • Check the SSL status

  • Resolve errors

  • Access DNS (if internal domain)

  • Track expiration & auto-renewal

🏷️ Tag types:

  • Internal → purchased via CrocoClick

  • External → connected from an external registrar

🧱 Root Domain, Subdomain, WWW — what’s the difference?

🔸 Root Domain

This is your main domain.

Example:
exemple.com

Often used for:

  • Main website

  • Homepage

  • Blog

🔹 Subdomain

A prefix added to the domain.

Examples:

  • formation.exemple.com

  • webinar.exemple.com

  • membre.exemple.com

Useful for organizing your ecosystem without buying multiple domains.

Technically… it’s also a subdomain.
CrocoClick lets you use:

  • exemple.com
    or

Best practice:
Choose one of the two and redirect the other to optimize SEO.
