Your communities are a dynamic place for people with shared interests to connect.

With Private Channels, you can keep certain content confidential within your groups, creating a sense of exclusivity and belonging. This also allows you to limit the scope of discussions, have more control over the topics covered, and target your communication according to your needs.

How do you set up private channels?

OPTION #1: Create a new private channel

  • Create a new channel.

  • Enable the "make channel private" option.

OPTION #2: Convert an existing channel

  • Go to the channel settings.

  • Open the Settings tab.

  • Select Change to Private Channel.

3. Manage members

  • Return to the channel settings.

  • Go to the Members tab.

  • Add the relevant people.

  • Appoint a Channel Manager to give administrator access to that specific member on that specific channel.

Important information

  • The group owner and channel creator are automatically designated as "Channel Manager."

  • The "Channel Manager" acts as administrator only in this specific space. The roles of administrator or group owner do not apply here.

  • The owner cannot leave a private channel.

  • Private channels will not appear in the channel list for members who do not participate in them.

Conclusion

Private channels offer targeted and confidential management of your exchanges, reinforcing exclusivity and control over discussions within your groups.
