Have you ever typed a customer's name into the CrocoClick search bar... and nothing came up?

This is often because CrocoClick isn’t searching in the right field. By default, it only searches for the name, email, and phone number. If you have a custom field like “Customer Number,” “Promo Code,” or “Order Reference”—it’s ignored.

This feature lets you choose exactly which fields CrocoClick searches.

Before you begin

💡 This feature applies to custom fields you’ve created in CrocoClick. If you don’t have any yet, start by reading Create, Organize and Manage Custom Fields.

Who can edit search fields?

Only admins.

Regular users can view the current configuration settings—but cannot modify them.

What you need to know before configuring

Field limit per object

Object Maximum number of searchable fields

Contacts

6 fields

Opportunities

6 fields

Custom objects

6 fields

⚠️ Enter at least 3 characters in the search bar to trigger the search.

Required fields (cannot be removed)

Some fields are set by default and cannot be removed:

  • Contacts: Contact Name, Email, Phone

  • Opportunities: Opportunity Name

How to configure your search fields

Step 1 — Open Settings

Go to the relevant sub-account → SettingsCustom Fields

Step 2 — Access the configuration menu

Click the three-dot button (⋮) in the top right corner of the page → Edit search fields

Step 3 — Select the object

Choose the record type for which you want to edit the search:

  • Contacts

  • Opportunities

  • Custom object (if you’ve created one)

Step 4 — Check the fields you want to make searchable

A list of all your available fields will appear. Check the ones you want to include in the search, up to a maximum of 6.

Step 5 — Save

Click Save and confirm.

✅ The change takes effect immediately for all users of the account.

Where does this make a difference?

As soon as you save, the new configuration applies throughout CrocoClick—not just in the Contacts view.

For Contacts, here are all the affected areas:

Where What changes

Contacts search bar

The main view of your CRM

Global search

The search bar at the top of the platform

Conversations

When you create a new message

Calendar

When you create an appointment

Tasks

When you assign a contact to a task

Opportunities

The "Contact" and "Additional Contacts" fields

The updated search also applies to: Dashboard, Automations, Forms, Surveys, Payments, Invoices, Documents & Contracts, Affiliate Manager, Emails, Client Area, and Custom Objects.

💡 Tips

  • Start with the fields your team uses most often. If you frequently search by order number, that’s the one you should add first.

  • Don’t fill in all 6 fields “just to be safe.” Fewer fields = faster search and more accurate results.

  • No need to notify your team. The change is instant and global—everyone benefits as soon as you save.

Advanced Search: Regular Expressions

🔧 Advanced section — If you’re just getting started, you can skip this part for now.

Regex search lets you perform partial searches on certain text fields.

Examples of available syntax:

Syntax What it searches for

abc*

Results starting with "abc"

*abc

Results ending with "abc"

*abc*

Results containing "abc"

⚠️ The regex does not work on: contact names, phone numbers, monetary values, and numeric fields.
