Gamification transforms participation in your groups into an engaging and stimulating experience. Thanks to a points and levels system, your members are rewarded for their involvement. Here's how this system works in CrocoClick communities.

1. Set up gamification

Gamification levels are predefined and range from level 1 to level 9.

As a group administrator, you can customize the names of the levels:

  1. Go to Settings > Gamification & Rewards > Gamification

  2. Click on the name of the level you want to change

  3. Change the name

  4. Click Save

2. How points and levels work

Members earn points when another user likes their posts, comments, or replies.

➡️ 1 like = 1 point for the author of the content.

Point thresholds per level

  • Level 1: 0 points

  • Level 2: 5 points

  • Level 3: 20 points

  • Level 4: 65 points

  • Level 5: 155 points

  • Level 6: 515 points

  • Level 7: 2015 points

  • Level 8: 8015 points

  • Level 9: 33015 points

What changes after reaching a level

  • The badge on the member's profile displays their current level

  • A circular progress bar shows progress towards the next level

  • Levels are specific to each group: a member at level 3 in one group will start at level 1 in another

3. Leaderboard

Members can view the group leaderboard to see their position relative to other participants.

They can find out:

  • Custom levels

  • Courses or content unlocked at certain levels

  • The top contributors over the last 7 days, the last 30 days, and overall

4. Rewards

Administrators can add offline rewards (e.g., gift cards, special access, etc.).

🎁 A maximum of 3 rewards can be added.

Add a reward

  1. Go to Settings > Gamification & Rewards > Rewards

  2. Enter your reward text (e.g., "Win a $50 voucher at level 5")

🔔 The rewards will then appear in the left sidebar, under the Leaderboard tab.

💡 TIP: Currently, rewards are not automatically linked to a level. They must be managed manually by the administrator. However, you can set up specific automations to manage these rewards.

5. Automations

You can automate certain gamification-related actions to streamline the management of your community and reward your active members more intelligently.

a) Trigger: Level Change

Create a workflow with the "User Group Gamification Level Changed" trigger to execute actions as soon as a member reaches a new level.

👉 For example: send a personalized congratulatory email, trigger a sequence, or award a bonus.

Steps:

  1. Go to the Automation tab

  2. Choose the "User Group Gamification Level Changed" trigger

  3. Filter by group and level if necessary

  4. Add the desired actions

b) Action: Assign points

You can also automatically award points to a member when they perform a specific action.

👉 Example: award 100 points when a member completes a training course.

Steps:

  1. In Automations, select the action "Grant community group leaderboard points."

  2. Choose the number of points to award

  3. Select the relevant group

⚠️ Important: the user must be part of the target group. Otherwise, the workflow will fail.

With these automations, you can make your gamification system smart, fluid, and scalable, without manual intervention at each step.
