The “Attendee Sign In” feature lets you decide whether your participants must provide their email address before accessing your CrocoLive room (the Watch Room).
Depending on whether or not you enable this option, your CrocoLive experience and statistics will change.
When the feature is disabled...
By default, the option is disabled.
This means that:
You can share the non-unique link to the broadcast room (Watch Room).
Anyone with this link can join the CrocoLive, even without being registered.
⚠️ IMPORTANT LIMITATION: If you use this non-unique link, CrocoLive will not be able to...
Accurately identify your participants.
Link their actions to your statistics.
Trigger certain advanced features (such as starting a video at the right time or tracking real-time engagement).
In short: handy for quickly sharing a live stream, but less precise for tracking, automations, and statistics.
When the feature is enabled
If you enable Attendee Sign-in, access to the CrocoLive room is limited to registered users.
In practice:
A participant who clicks on their unique link (received on the Thank You page or via a reminder email) is taken directly to the room.
If a participant uses the non-unique link, they are redirected to a login page.
They will need to enter the information used during registration.
If they haven’t registered yet, they’ll be redirected to the corresponding registration page and can join the live session immediately after registering
✅ Benefits:
Enables precise tracking (analytics, viewing time, engagement).
Enables all “live-like” features (video playback at the right time, interactions, etc.).
Compatible with your own emails (if you send the non-unique link directly, your subscribers can still log in with their credentials—or sign up if they aren’t registered for the session).
When to use this feature?
Enable Attendee Sign-in if:
You want detailed tracking of participants.
You use an external email service (and send the room link yourself).
You want to restrict access to registered users only.
Disable it if:
You want to provide quick, open access to everyone, without restrictions.
You prioritize simplicity over statistical accuracy.
Conclusion
The Attendee Sign-in feature is a strategic tool:
When disabled, it simplifies access but limits statistics.
When enabled, it requires participants to share their email address to join the live stream and provides you with comprehensive tracking.
👉 In most cases, we recommend enabling it to take full advantage of all CrocoLive’s features and get a reliable measure of your results.
