Once your pipeline is structured and your transitions are automated, you can go even further by automatically triggering strategic actions based on the stage or status of your opportunities.

These actions can include follow-ups, internal notifications, or task creation.

Understanding opportunity-related triggers

For automation to launch at the right time, you need to choose the right trigger.

Here is the list of triggers available in CrocoClick (with their current French names and English equivalents).

1. Dynamic Status Changed

What it is: Triggers the workflow when an opportunity status changes (e.g., "Open" → "Won" or "Lost").

When to use it:

  • Send a congratulatory email after a sale ("Won").

  • Launch a follow-up process for "Lost" opportunities.

  • Notify the team when an opportunity is lost.

2. Creation (Opportunity Created)

What it is: Triggered when a new opportunity is created in a pipeline, either manually or automatically.

When to use it:

  • Send a welcome email to a new lead.

  • Create an internal task to contact the prospect.

  • Tag the contact based on the source.

3. Dynamic Opportunity (Opportunity Status Changed)

What it is: Similar to "Dynamic Status," but allows you to use more custom filters on the opportunity (pipeline, value, source, custom fields, etc.).

When to use it:

  • Trigger if the prospect has a change in custom fields in a specific pipeline.

  • Apply specific scenarios to certain lead sources.

4. Pipeline Stage Changed

What it is: Triggers when an opportunity moves from one stage to another in a pipeline.

When to use it:

  • Automate the prospect's progress through the process.

  • Launch an email sequence when it moves to the "Proposal Sent" stage.

  • Notify a sales rep when an opportunity reaches "In Negotiation."

5. Stale Opportunities

What it is: Triggers the workflow when an opportunity has not changed for X days (using filters).

When to use it:

  • Automatically re-engage inactive prospects.

  • Change the status to "Lost" after a certain period of time.

  • Notify a sales rep that an opportunity is stagnating.

💡 TIP: For complex workflows, combine these triggers with specific filters (value, pipeline, stage, source) to ensure your automations are only triggered for the right opportunities.

2. Examples of actions to automate

Once you've chosen the right trigger, you can follow up with automatic actions:

📩 Automatic reminders

  • Email or text message after X days without change.

  • Nurturing sequence for blocked leads.

  • Reminder before an appointment.

🔔 Internal notifications

  • Notify a sales rep that a prospect has moved to the "In negotiation" stage.

  • Notify the onboarding team after a sale.

  • Send a Slack message or internal email.

📋 Task creation

  • Call a prospect within 24 hours of a quote request.

  • Prepare a contract after agreement.

  • Schedule a post-onboarding follow-up.

3. Configure these actions in CrocoClick

  1. Go to AutomationsNew Workflows.

  2. Choose the opportunity trigger that suits your situation.

  3. Add the desired actions:

    • Send Email for follow-ups.

    • Send SMS for quick reminders.

    • Assign User to designate a manager.

    • Create Task to ensure nothing is overlooked.

    • Webhook to connect other tools.

  4. Save and test.

4. Tip: Act according to the time spent on a step

The Inactive Opportunities trigger is perfect for:

  • Automatically follow up after X days of inactivity.

  • Alert a sales rep.

  • Mark as "Lost" after a long period without response.

5. Concrete example

Pipeline:

  1. Requested the lead magnet

  2. Made an appointment

  3. Made a purchase

  • Automation 1:

    • Trigger: "Pipeline stage changed" + filter "moved to stage 2"

    • Action: confirmation email + "Prepare call" task.

  • Automation 2:

    • Trigger: "Inactive Opportunities" (filter "7 days" + filter "step 2")

    • Action: Follow-up text message.
