The Shopify integration allows you to synchronize your store with CrocoClick (customers, orders, products, etc., depending on your configuration) and trigger e-commerce automations for customer follow-up, onboarding, upselling, and retention.
It is ideal for linking your e-commerce activity to your marketing and customer relationship journeys in CrocoClick.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
Administrator access to your Shopify store.
Administrator access to your CrocoClick account.
Without these rights, the connection cannot be finalized.
Step 1: Create a custom app in Shopify
Shopify generally uses a Custom App to generate a secure API access token.
Log in to your Shopify admin.
Go to Apps.
Open Develop apps.
Enable Allow custom app development if necessary.
Click Create an app and give the app a name.
In Admin API permissions, enable at least read access to:
Orders
Products
Customers
Inventory
Save the permissions.
Click Install app.
In API credentials, copy the Admin API access token (it is only displayed once).
⚠️ Never share this token publicly. It gives access to your store's data.
Step 2: Connect Shopify to CrocoClick
In CrocoClick, go to Settings → Integrations.
Open Shopify, then click Connect or Manage.
Enter:
The URL of your Shopify store (e.g.,
https://votreboutique.myshopify.com)The Admin API access token generated previously
Confirm the connection.
Once the connection is established, the integration should appear as Connected.
Use Shopify in your CrocoClick automations
Depending on your e-commerce configuration, you can then:
Trigger automations on Shopify events (e.g., order created, payment received).
Segment your customers based on their purchasing behavior.
Trigger post-purchase sequences:
Confirmation emails or text messages
Customer onboarding
Upsells or cross-sells
Review requests
Synchronize customer data between Shopify and CrocoClick.
CrocoClick thus becomes the automation engine, while Shopify remains the e-commerce source.
Troubleshooting
"Invalid token" or "access denied"
Check that the custom app is properly installed in Shopify.
Verify that the copied token is correct and complete.
Check that the permissions cover Orders, Customers, Products, and Inventory.
If necessary, recreate a token and update the integration in CrocoClick.
Orders are not being reported
Check that the Shopify integration is active in CrocoClick.
Check that Shopify has not revoked the application's access (uninstallation, token rotation).
Check for any limitations related to your Shopify plan or the permissions granted.
Best practices
Create the Shopify app before launching your e-commerce automations.
Limit API permissions to what is strictly necessary.
Test with a test order after logging in.
Centralize automation logic in CrocoClick and let Shopify handle sales.
